Code of Conduct
Zurich AI Safety Day is committed to creating an inclusive, respectful, and safe environment for all participants. We believe that diversity of perspectives strengthens our community and advances our shared mission of ensuring AI benefits humanity.
Our Commitment
We are dedicated to providing a harassment-free conference experience for everyone, regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, religion (or lack thereof), technology choices, or professional background.
We do not tolerate harassment of conference participants in any form. Sexual language and imagery is not appropriate for any conference venue, including talks, workshops, parties, social media, and other online media.
Expected Behavior
We expect all participants to:
- Participate in an authentic and active way, contributing to the health and longevity of this community
- Exercise consideration and respect in your speech and actions
- Attempt collaboration before conflict
- Refrain from demeaning, discriminatory, or harassing behavior and speech
- Be mindful of your surroundings and fellow participants
- Alert community leaders if you notice a dangerous situation, someone in distress, or violations of this Code of Conduct
Unacceptable Behavior
Unacceptable behaviors include, but are not limited to:
- Intimidating, harassing, abusive, discriminatory, derogatory, or demeaning speech or actions
- Harmful or prejudicial verbal or written comments related to personal characteristics or protected categories
- Inappropriate use of sexual images in public spaces (including presentation slides)
- Inappropriate physical contact without consent
- Unwelcome sexual attention or advances
- Deliberate intimidation, stalking, or following
- Harassing photography or recording
- Sustained disruption of talks or other events
- Advocating for, or encouraging, any of the above behaviors
Consequences
Conference participants violating these rules may be sanctioned or expelled from the conference without a refund at the discretion of the conference organizers. If a participant engages in harassing behavior, the conference organizers may take any action they deem appropriate, including warning the offender or expulsion from the conference.
Scope
This Code of Conduct applies to all conference spaces, both online and offline, including:
- Conference venues and sessions
- Social events and parties
- Social media and online discussions using conference hashtags
- One-on-one meetings arranged during the conference
Reporting
If you are being harassed, notice that someone else is being harassed, or have any other concerns, please contact a member of conference staff immediately. Conference staff can be identified by their staff badges.
Conference staff will be happy to help participants contact venue security or local law enforcement, provide escorts, or otherwise assist those experiencing harassment to feel safe for the duration of the conference.
We value your attendance and want you to feel safe, respected, and supported throughout the event.

This Code of Conduct is adapted from the Conference Code of Conduct and the Contributor Covenant, version 2.0. We are grateful to these communities for their groundwork in creating inclusive spaces.
